We offer three paper types:
All are excellent, Kodak Premium Photographic 8-mil photo-grade papers. The heavyweight photo satin is our most popular paper, followed by heavyweight glossy.
Fade Resistance: With typical indoor illumination, the first detectable fading will occur in 10-25 years. Objectionable fading may take longer. Prints will last longer if mounted under glass.
Water Resistance: These prints should be protected from water drops. In many cases, if a water drop is blotted immediately, the damage will be minimal. Your hands should be dry when handling the prints.
Lamination: All paper types can be laminated. We do not offer laminating services. Pressure lamination is, in general, more reliable than heat lamination.
Glossiness: Glossy paper is similar (except in weight) to the paper used for printing high quality magazines (e.g., National Geographic, Newsweek, etc.). It is also similar to the glossy paper traditionally used for color prints from a photofinisher. Satin (also called lustre or semi-gloss) paper has slight reflectivity. Glossy paper provides slightly darker blacks. However, one must choose a viewing angle such that reflected lights do not interfere with the image. Satin paper provides better viewing irrespective of the type of illumination. Matte paper has virtually no reflectivity.
Uniformity of Glossiness (Differential Glossiness): There is no significant variation in glossiness in areas of high ink loading.
Pricing: All papers are priced the same.
